Prepare for your cruise ahead of time. Below, learn what to pack, what to bring and what not to bring on board. Also, check out the other important information about traveling on Carnival Pride. Then, see some of the wonderful things to expect on board.

Prohibited items
There are prohibited items on Carnival Pride. According to their website:
“Carnival Cruise Line prohibits weapons, illegal drugs and certain items that could interfere with the safe operation of its ships or compromise the safety and secure environment of its guests and crew. Carnival conducts security scanning of all luggage and reserves the right to confiscate any item, which in Carnival’s sole discretion, is deemed dangerous or can pose a risk to the vessel or its guests. Items will be removed and disposed of and no compensation will be provided.”
U.S Customs and Border Protection will perform an agricultural inspection when the ship arrives at a U.S. Port of Entry. This is done to protect the United States from potential carriers of animal and plant pests or diseases that can cause damage to crops, livestock, and the environment within the U.S. Therefore, the following items may not leave the ship:
- Animal products
- Unsealed food items
- Fruits and vegetables
- Agriculture and horticulture products
- Plants, including cut flowers
Luggage requirements
Make sure you limit your luggage to one bag per person if your cruise is five days or less. But, if your cruise is six days or longer, limit your luggage to two bags per person or less. And, if you’re wondering what to pack, here’s the recommendation: daytime casual wear is standard throughout the Carnival Pride cruise ship.
For evening attire, most evenings are ‘Cruise Casual.’ But, there are one or two ‘Cruise Elegant’ evenings during the voyage where guests have an opportunity to dress in style. So, be sure to bring a some elegant clothing as well.
Info for US Citizens
Be sure to check with the U.S. DEPARTMENT OF STATE — BUREAU OF CONSULAR AFFAIRS to determine your necessary travel documents. Below is a statement from the Carnival Pride website:
“Proper travel documentation is required at embarkation and throughout the cruise. Even though a guest has completed registration using Online Check-in, it is still the responsibility of the guest to present the required travel documents at the time of embarkation…any guest without proper documents will not be allowed to board the vessel and no refund of the cruise fare will be issued. Carnival assumes no responsibility for advising guests of proper travel documentation.”
Carnival Pride Dining
When you travel on Carnival Pride, there are three dinner-seating options to choose from. First, “Your Time” open seating is from 5:45pm and 9:30pm. Next, “Early Seating” is at 6:00pm. Finally, “Late Seating” starts at 8:15pm. And, when you book your cruise, you may confirm your seating choice. For early and late seating, your assigned dining room and table number will be printed on your Sail & Sign card, which you’ll receive during check-in prior to embarkation.
To mix it up, take advantage of the other dining options Carnival Pride has to offer. First, there’s the casual-bistro Lido Deck Restaurant. Then, check out the elegant Steakhouse Restaurant, which serves excellent steaks and other delicious entrées in an intimate, upscale atmosphere. And, if you’re in the mood for Italian cuisine, try Cucina del Capitano during your cruise. Finally, there are additional dining options: The Chef’s Table, Bonsai Sushi, and Ji Ji Asian Kitchen. Please note, each of the additional dining options requires a nominal fee.
