Stretching two miles within the world-renowned Golden Corridor, Cabo del Sol is famous for being one of the premier golf communities in all of North America.  And, this remarkable master-planned community and golf resort is the home of two championship courses: Ocean Course and Desert Course.  Also, Cabo del Sol has the only full-amenity golf clubhouse in Los Cabos.  As a bonus, it offers some of the best oceanfront and golf-course real estate in the world.

Established in 1992, Cabo del Sol is only five miles north of Cabo San Lucas.  It runs along the spectacular Sea of Cortez.  And, this 1800-acre slice of golfing paradise boasts approximately 1700 single-family and multi-family residences along with 2000 hotel rooms.

What is Los Cabos?

Los Cabos first became a world-class tourist destination because of the outstanding Black and Blue Marlin fishing.  But now, Los Cabos is Mexico’s premier golfing destination.  It’s a Mecca for golfers and tourists from around the world.  Now that Los Cabos has grown exponentially, find everything you want in a tourist destination for your entire family.

Located along the southern tip of Baja California, Los Cabos consists of Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo.  Cabo is at the southern tip of Baja and San Jose del Cabo is just to the north.  In between, you’ll find the 20-mile Golden Corridor facing the beautiful Sea of Cortez.

There are two unique golf courses at Cabo del Sol that will captivate any golfer, from beginner to professional.  And, the vistas of the beautiful Sea of Cortez from each hole truly inspire.  Also, the two courses are very distinctive.  One is right on the Sea of Cortez and the other is nestled within a gorgeous desert landscape.  Finally, they were each created by a different world-renowned golf-course designer.

The Ocean Course

Designed by Jack Nicklaus, the 18-hole Cabo del Sol Ocean Course has been captivating world-class golfers since its opening in 1994.  This golf course stretches over a mile along the rugged coastline of the Sea of Cortez.  You’ll find seven holes perched right above the sea.  Then, as you wrap-up your game, play “the three finest finishing holes in all of golf,” according to Nicklaus.  And, the signature hole is at the 17th, a par-3 nestled among bunches of cacti, large boulders and a menacing cove.

According to the January, 2018 issue of Golf Digest, the Cabo del Sol Par-72 Ocean Course “Placed 70 in Golf Magazine’s list of World 100 Greatest Golf Courses.”  Globally, few public golf courses are held in higher regard.

The Desert Course

Blending panoramic views with challenging holes, Cabo del Sol’s 18-Hole Desert Course appeals to players of all skill levels.  Starting with the scenery, this golf course meanders through abyssal gullies that look like small canyons.  And throughout, you’ll gaze upon a majestic mountain backdrop while trekking through a wild desert landscape.  Best of all, every hole boasts wondrous views of the Sea of Cortez.

The Desert Course was designed by Tom Weiskopf – famous for his winning golf courses nestled within lush desert settings.  This Par-72 course was first opened in December of 2001.  Since then, Cabo del Sol’s Desert Course has become famous for it’s uniqueness.

According to Tom Weiskopf: “with its dramatic views of the Sea of Cortez from every hole, The Desert course at Cabo del Sol is one of the most unique layouts I’ve designed. The natural beauty of desert, mountain and ocean provides an ideal setting and some of the best terrain for golf anywhere in the world. My design incorporates traditional bunkering, expansive greens, wide fairways, multiple tee areas, natural waste areas and spectacular ocean views.”

Dining at Cabo del Sol

Inside The Clubhouse at Cabo del Sol, you’ll find excellent food and cuisine for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  Also, there’s a Sunday brunch, which is famous among golfers, and is popular with locals and guests.  And, The Clubhouse restaurant is a great place to enjoy a signature cocktail while taking in the amazing views of the Sea of Cortez coastline.

Art from Baja-inspired local artisans adorn the walls of Cabo del Sol’s Clubhouse dining room – a wonderful air-conditioned environment to dine with your family and friends.  Then, you’ll love the outdoor terrace, where colonial and traditional architecture blend with distinctive Mexican design.  Finally, you’ll enjoy the Courtyard Bar, which is accentuated by a beautiful Cantera-stone fountain and offers panoramic views of the ocean and the golf courses.
